Wendell Artherholt

Wendell Ray Artherholt, born August 1, 1948, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie Mullenix Artherholt and Travis Joel Artherholt, his son, Thomas Andrew Artherholt and a step-daughter, Kassandra Allenee Herrin. He is survived by his wife, Katrina Thomson Artherholt, his son and wife, Travis & Brenda Artherholt, his two daughters Stacie Artherholt Carroll and Danielle Nicole Artherholt . His grandson and wife, Chris and Aire Artherholt, granddaughter, Alysa Artherholt, grandsons, Rylan & Kai Carroll, grandson, Clayton Allen, and granddaughter, Charlie Artherholt. His mother-in-law, Ruby Kathryn Thomson, sister-in-law & husband, Karla & Steve Bruno, nephews & wife, Tim & Amber Hooks, Brian & Ashlyn Hooks, niece & husband, Jessica & Zach Lacy, great niece & nephews, Abby , Cooper & Case Hooks. Step-son & wife, David & Renee Herrin and step-grandaughter, Kassandra Renee Herrin. Wendell graduated from Huntsville High School and began his employment with Hi-Lo Auto where he stayed for 22 yrs and made quite a few friends over those years. He worked for the last 16 yrs for Huntsville Truck & Tractor as a Kubota mechanic. He truly loved his work and wouldn’t think of retirement. Over the years he had pets and the most special of all was a cat found on the side of the road by his Mother-in-law, Kathryn. He named the cat, Earl, and he is what got him through the duration of his recuperation from open-heart surgery and they were as close as a man & his pet could ever be. He loved his family with all his being and he will be missed greatly by them and by all his many wonderful friends. He was a down to earth person who loved the Lord and served Him in his way to the best of his ability. He was tender hearted and loved listening to gospel music in his truck and at home. He loved for his wife to sing to him, which she did quite often. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24 from 5-7pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 25, 11:00am at Pine Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Wendell would rather you send donations to the American Heart Association to help others like him or to the charity of your choice.
