Rosalie Mary Passafuma

Rosalie Mary Passafuma, 83 of Montgomery, Texas passed away Sunday January 17, 2016 surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on October 14, 1932 to Ben and Josephine Augustine and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Rosslyn (Joe) Passafuma; brothers Sam Augustine Sr., Ben Augustine Jr., Anthony Augustine, and sister Josephine Pepe. Rosalie graduated from Milby High School in 1949. Following graduation, she went on to work for Great Southern Insurance Company until she met the love of her life, Rosslyn (Joe) Passafuma and married on July 15, 1951. She resided in Houston for 44 years and in their golden years Rosalie and Joe moved to Montgomery, Texas where she resided for over 20 years until her passing. Rosalie enjoyed cooking and preparing amazing meals. She loved to share her recipes with others and helping others cook as well. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat trying new restaurants. She also loved taking trips to Las Vegas and other casinos. After raising her three children – Joe, Barbara, and Theresa; Rosalie went on to raise her grandchildren and also her great-grandchildren. She was a relentless care-giver and most of her life she devoted her time here on earth taking care of others. Rosalie is survived by her three children, Joe Passafuma and wife Kathryn of Cypress, Texas, Barbara Hyde and husband Bobby of Montgomery, Texas and Theresa Kowis and husband James of Houston, Texas. Sister Margaret Mandola of Houston, Texas and Brother August Augustine of Friendwoods, Texas. Grandchildren, Bridget Kowis, Kimberly Passafuma, Melissa Duffy and Kerri Scoggin. Great-grandchildren include Reese, Trenton, Mason, Trevor, Waylon, Khloe, and Hunter; along with many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. John Ott who cared for her many years, through her passing. Rosalie was kind, happy, loving and fun-loving; and her door was always open to everyone. She will always be remembered by her loving family and by all whose lives she touched. Serving in the honor of pallbearers are: Nicholas Augustine, Michael Duffy, William Wagers, Vincent Mandola, Steven Mandola and John Pepe Jr. .
