Rebecca "Becky" Joanne Hawley

Rebecca "Becky" Joanne Gaines Hawley made her grand entrance in to this world on September 17, 1951, and went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2018. Becky came from a long line of strong women. She loved the Lord and devoted her life to serving Him. She also never met a stranger and anyone she met became her friend. She was looking forward to being with Jesus and seeing all of her loves ones who had already gone to Heaven. Becky is now free, healthy and restored, walking on streets of gold. Becky was born in Huntsville Texas, to Burnice and Kathryn Gaines. Growing up in Crabbs Prairie, she had a wonderful country childhood spent riding horses and causing mischief. She is a graduate of Huntsville High School and Sam Houston State University with a degree in Education and had a 30 year career in the insurance business. Becky met her husband John in Lake Jackson, Texas, and they married in 1989. While living in Angleton, they served at Northway Baptist Church. After moving to Huntsville in 1995 to care for her family, she joined Family Faith Church and enjoyed hosting Home Touch bible study in her home for many years. Family was the most important thing in her life other than her faith. She fiercely loved all her family. Her grandchildren were especially important to her. Becky is preceded in death by her husband, John Charles Hawley; sister, Geneva “Neva” Gaines; daughter, Gena Peltier Johnson; son-in-law, Joel Johnson; mother Kathryn Gaines; father, B.J. Gaines, Sr. She leaves behind her son Will Peltier and his wife Kelly; Scott Hawley and wife Ashley; grandchildren Jackson and Avery Peltier, Sarah, Kaylee, Alexis and Madison Hawley; brother BJ Gaines, Jr and wife Mary Ann; uncle William “Billy” Jackson; and many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and many beloved extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Family Faith Church, Huntsville, Texas or the charity of your choice. Family will receive friends Friday, May 4th, 10 am at Family Faith Church, Huntsville, Texas with a Memorial service at 11 am at Family Faith Church.
