Naomi Ruth Voyles Farris Naomi Ruth Voyles Farris was born November 9, 1933 in Haworth, Oklahoma and passed to heaven on Monday, January 2, 2012 in Conroe, Texas. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Keefer Farris; parents Eli and Floy Voyles, In laws Alton and Erma Farris; sister and brother in law Martha and Dick Logan; brother Clell Voyles; brother in law A. T. Ryden; and nephews Alan Ryden, Terry Farris, and Alan Logan. Naomi accepted Christ as her Savior at about age 10 and was baptized in the Little River by her uncle, Evangelist E. C. Gillentine. She was a member of Chapelwood Missionary Baptist Church of Huntsville where she was active in ministry until she became ill. Her career included Customer Representative for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Bookkeeper for the McAdams Stores in Huntsville, and Texas Department of Corrections where she worked in Human Resources and Payroll until her retirement. Naomi was known for her fun loving nature, her warm hospitality, and her phenomenal cooking abilities, especially when she prepared all the family favorites. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her survivors: Children Ruth Farris Phillips of Conroe; Alton Farris and wife Janie of Huntsville. Sisters Anna Kupke and Husband Luther of Idabel, OK; Sue Warren and Husband Wayne of Broken Bow, OK; Brother Joe Voyles and Wife Diane of Idabel, OK; Sister in law Maggie Parker and Husband George, of Houston; Brother in law Truett Farris and Wife Sarah of Van Vleck; Brother in law Maxia Farris and wife Rochelle of Huntsville. Grandchildren Jill Moreno and Husband Bill of Tomball, Andrew Phillips and Wife Carol of Destrehan, Louisiana, Kay Peterson and Husband Travis of Montgomery, Sara Beth Farris of Southeast Asia, and Katelyn Morgan and Husband Erik of Beaumont; 6 Great Grandchildren Landon and Owen Phillips; Zoie, Ellakay and Baby Moreno; and Brooks Farris Peterson; and a wonderful and talented group of nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas with Rev. Jerrell Head and her brother, Joe Voyles officiating. Interment will follow service at Farris Cemetery, Walker County, Texas. Visitation with the family will precede the funeral service at 10:00 am on Saturday. Serving as Pallbearers are Steve Dawson, Paul Nash, Travis Peterson, Bill Moreno, Andrew Phillips and Erik Morgan. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Truett Farris, Maxia Farris, Wayne Warren and Luther Kupke.
