Mike Brown

Michael Slade Brown, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at his home in Willis, Texas. He was born to the late Lutcher Slade Brown and Mary Jane Brown on June 18, 1946. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Robin Brown Jones. Mike is survived by his wife, Patti, sister, Barbara Ewing and her husband Stephen, his son, Michael Brown, his son, Alan Brown and wife Kedra, and their children, Mason and Lauren. He is also survived by his step children, Damon Hall and April Rojas, and step grandchildren, Scott Molnar, Brandon Molnar, and Danika Molnar. Mike's love of all things outdoors motivated him daily. He was an avid fisherman and loved having his own pond in the backyard for daily fishing. He and Alan caught fish in his backyard pond 3 days before his death. He was a masterclass shooter for USPSA, as evidenced by all of the trophies on the wall, a member of the NRA and enjoyed his time hunting at his family ranch. He enjoyed camping, especially in Colorado. He loved fixing things, helping others, and was always prepared for any emergency. Mike, was a boy grown tall, for he had a fascination with airplanes, racing cars, and boats and took full advantage for his love of these things. Never one to sit still, he was always working on something. He was a licensed pilot, a member of the EAA and thrived on flying his plane. His love for music was displayed in his playing the trumpet and mellophone in the orchestra. He played for the orchestra and sang in the choir at First Baptist Church of Conroe for a number of years. He was dedicated to his family. He truly loved all of his grandchildren and would do anything for them. His life was well lived and was a life that touched so many. A Celebration of Life for Mike will take place on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Conroe. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to First Baptist Church in Conroe to be used for special needs, benevolence funds, and mission outreach programs at www.fbcconroe.org.
