Maxine Roberson

Thelma Maxine Roberson was born Aug. 30, 1933 in the Boswell Community of Walker County. She was born in a house on a hill overlooking Hardy Bottom. She passed away Sept. 24, 2022 in Huntsville, Texas after 89 years of service to her Lord and Savior and to her family who she loved with all her heart. She was married to Arthur Frank Roberson for 68 years before his death in 2018. Together they lived in several communities across the state of Texas as Frank served a number of churches as pastor with Maxine faithfully at his side. She was placed on this earth to serve as a pastor's wife, a title she wore proudly throughout their time together. Maxine & Frank enjoyed traveling together, including trips to many destinations across our country, as well as their wonderful pilgrimages to Israel and other locations in the Holy Land. She loved her church, and particularly her Sunday School class - "The Encouragers". Maxine practiced unconditional love for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were among her favorite events including the Thanksgiving "feasts" hosted at the family's Hoot-n-Holler Ranch in the Boswell Community. She was predeceased by her parents, Clyde & Edna Colburn, her husband, Frank, and her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Roberson. She is survived and continues to be loved by her children and in-laws, Kay Walker (Jimmy) of McQueeney, Kooter Roberson (Rebecca) of Huntsville, and Jack Roberson (Amy) of Dallas. Additional survivors include grandson James Walker (Jordan), grandson Justin Walker, granddaughter Jordan Walker, grandson Jake Roberson (Julia), granddaughter Allison Ozols (Brian) and grandson Sam Roberson. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are set for noon Saturday, Oct. 1 at First Baptist Church in New Waverly, Texas, with Rev. Reagan Cooksey and Rev. Dr. J.D. Andrews presiding. Visitation will take place beginning at 11am Oct. 1 at the church. A private interment will take place at Boswell Cemetery in Walker County, Texas.
