Mary Ann Weisinger

Mary Ann Sandlin Weisinger, 82, passed away early Friday morningOctober 7th. She was so dearly loved by many as she was so kind and loving to others. She had a tremendous heart for family, extended family, friends of family, and she so enjoyed and genuinely appreciated kindness shown to her. Mary Ann was born May 4, 1940 in Lafayette, Louisiana. She led a full life as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, great aunt, and cousin. Mary grew up in Jones Creek, Texas and graduated from Brazosport High School in Freeport, Texas where she remained linked to her classmates throughout her entire life. She loved community in all its forms and she thrived upon staying connected to others. She remained in touch with her friends from her childhood church home, Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church in Jones Creek, for many years. Mary Ann's life was full of joy and adventure. She gave such passion in all that she did as a devoted wife and mother, a sister who was always available, as a teacher, as an insurance executive, when working retail, as a church member, as a cheerleader, and as an alumna of the University of North Texas. Her love, excitement, and encouragement was ever present. She loved to travel and shared in the joy when others shared their travel stories with her. In her later years, she enjoyed her wonderful home on Lake Mexia where she graciously hosted Thanksgivings, Christmas, birthdays and many family gatherings. Mary Ann will be especially remembered for her love of family. She gave tremendous time, energy, and modeled a wonderful intentional effort to always stay in touch. She treasured people. She was always available for a phone call, to take on travel to attend weddings, or to send a kind note or send pictures of family events. Mary Ann was generous with her time, never selfish, and always interested in knowing how others were doing. Her manner and her words were kind, humorous, gentle, and always considerate of others. She made friends effortlessly. Her passing is preceded by her husband Felix Mack Weisinger, Parents Dale and Kate Sandlin, Brother William Sandlin, Uncle Arthur Bagley and Great Nephew Robert Sigrist. She leaves behind her son, Jesse Weisinger and her sister Mae Dale Sandlin Sigrist and her husband, Charles Sigrist. Nephew, Stephen Sigrist and wife Katherine Sigrist, Nieces Rebecca Sigrist and Elizabeth Sigrist. Great nephews and nieces Claire Sigrist, Jack Sigrist, Peyton Archibald, Avery Archibald, Audrey Archibald. Aunt, Mrs. Arthur Bagley and cousins Terry Bagley and wife Diana Bagley, Bill Bagley and wife Becky, Brenda Parker and husband Perry Parker, Jake Sandlin, Jackie Sandlin, John Hangii, and James Hangii. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 14th at 1pm in Montgomery New Cemetary.
