Mary Pollard

Mary Elizabeth Pollard, age 54, passed away March 16th, 2017 peacefully amongst loved ones in Houston, Texas. She was born December 1st, 1962 to Felton and Louise Floyd in Brandon, Mississippi. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Pollard, her mother Louise Floyd, children; Sandra, Amanda and April, granddaughters; Maisey, Sydney and Desiree, sisters; Donna, Kaye, Teresa, Norma, and Audrey as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her father Felton Floyd, Aunt "EZ" Louise, cousin Shelly Crotwell Chase, brothers-in-law; Lynn Hardy and Jeff White, nephew Jason Limas, and her dear friend, Alma Powell. Mary knew no stranger. From a young age she lived to make others happy, whether it be a family member, friend, or someone she had just met. She graciously put any and everyone before herself without question. She had a heart of gold that exuded kindness, love and compassion for all. She had the gift of gab like no one else and could find humor in any situation. It was no secret that Mary was an expert prankster, as she was well-known for her mischievous spirit and ability to make those around her laugh, especially her grand-daughters. Being a good "Nana" came effortlessly to her and was a role that suited her beautifully. In the words of her granddaughter Maisey, she was "the best friend ever, and you could trust nobody more than her." Truer words could never be spoken. She will be sorely missed by those she has left behind. Mary knew her place on this earth but she also knew she had a place waiting for her in Heaven. To say she was a firm believer in Christ would be an understatement. She walked hand in hand with the Lord and trusted his plan with unwavering faith. She has gained her wings no doubt. A memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 22 at 11:00 AM at the Hawthorne Baptist Church, 638 Hawthorne Road, New Waverly, Texas 77358. As Mary was an avid animal lover, we ask that in lieu of flowers, you please make a donation to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter.
