Mary Susan (Susie) McGee

Mary Susan "Susie" McGee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on September 17, 1949, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Dr. Richard Allison Ellis and Mary Evelyn "Lyn" (Hampton) Ellis. Susie was a proud legacy of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at the University of Oklahoma. She was known throughout her life for her creativity and musical gifts. Whether playing the piano or cultivating handcrafted works of art, she brought beauty and warmth into every space she touched. Her originality was matched only by her kindness and deep devotion to her family. She was the adoring wife of Billy Raymond McGee for 32 years, and he was faithfully by her side in her final moments. Together, they built a life rooted in love and faith, with unwavering devotion to family. Susie was the proud mother of three daughters—Allison Conner (Craig), Lindsay Edmiston, and Randi Moore—and one son, Andy McGee (Cathy). Her greatest joy came from being “Mamaw” to her grandchildren: Alyssa Oliver, James Oliver, Leslie Scott Turner (Sarah), Brady McGee (Karina), Addie Baggett, Landry Conrady (Christian), Kylie Ammann, Reece Edmiston, Lily McGee, and Scotty McGee. She was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Rylan McGee. She is survived by her brother, Thomas "Tom" Ellis (Sue), and was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dr. Richard Stewart “Stew” Ellis (Kathy). Susie had many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws and friends who she loved dearly. Susie will be remembered for her originality, her infectious smile, her warm and loving spirit, her love of music, and the deep joy she found in caring for others. She leaned on her faith through every season of life, drawing strength and peace from it no matter the circumstances. Her presence was a steady and gentle light in the lives of all who knew her.
