Lupe Rodriguez

Lupe Rodriguez went to meet his Lord and Savior and to be reunited with his wife Julia on February 3, 2018 having lived his life to the fullest. He was born November 16, 1942 in Allen Farm, Texas to the late Emilio Rodriguez and adopted and raised by Manuela Zaragoza. Lupe was 75 years old. Lupe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was loved and adored by everyone he met (he never met a stranger). He stole the heart of his wife and best friend of 57 years, Julia Rodriguez. Lupe and Julia were married November 9, 1958 beginning a long, loving, and nurturing relationship. Lupe loved his family and was so proud of all of them. He loved when everyone was together laughing and sharing memories. His smile said it all. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of his life. He and Julia would make the rounds to see each of their events. He loved and enjoyed traveling and being with his wife. He was a caring and loving person. He loved the places that he was employed, he worked at Moore-Henry Motors for many years. Then he went to work for Heartfield’s Body Shop for 17 years, where he enjoyed working for Mr. Heartfield Sr. After that he opened his own business “Rodriguez Paint & Body Shop” until he retired. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children; son Rick Rodriguez, daughter Carolyn Rodriguez Sockwell & husband Jeff, daughter Jacqui Rodriguez Christ & husband David, 2 granddaughters; Tehrah Rodriguez Sikes & husband Jeremy, & Chelsea (first lady) Christ, 4 grandsons; Alan Rodriguez, Ryan (sport) Sockwell, Davin (pup) Sockwell, & Corey (sport) Christ, as well as 3 great-grandchildren; Brent (piojo) Sowell, Talisa (Ms. T) Rodriguez, & Sienna Rodriguez, and very dear and loving friend Jerry Gober, & 1 sister Sylvia Rodriguez Santana. He was preceded in death by his wife Julia Rodriguez and his brothers Emilio Rodriguez & Peter Rodriguez. The family wants to thank St. Luke’s hospital the Woodlands. Honorary Pallbeaers are: Jeff Sockwell, Ryan Sockwell, Davin Sockwell, David Christ, Corey Christ, Darren Gober, Steven Gober, Alan Rodriguez, Brent Sowell, Jeremy Sikes, and David Fontana Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday February 7, 2018 from 6-8pm at Oakhurst Full Gospel Church, 451 FM 946, Oakhurst, Texas 77359. A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday February 8, 2018 at 11:00am at Oakhurst Full Gospel Church, 451 FM 946 Oakhurst, Texas 77359. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in his memory go the Oakhurst Full Gospel Church 451 FM 946, Oakhurst, Texas 77359.
