Linda Sue Walker Davis

Linda Sue Walker Davis, 60, ran into the open arms of Jesus who said “Well done good and faithful servant” when she departed this life on June the 24th, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. Linda was born in Fort Worth, Texas, the middle child to John and Rhoda Walker, on October 6, 1963. The sister of Danny and Randy Walker. She had an idyllic childhood growing up in the small town of White Settlement, Texas where she attended North Elementary, Brewer Middle School, and Brewer High School. Linda came to know her Lord and Savior at a young age. In high school, Linda was active in sports, dance and was voted Best All Around her senior year. Linda graduated early in December of 1981 and left home to attend college. At Angelo State University, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and became very involved in the Baptist Student Union. She graduated in May 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in education. She then earned a Masters of Education from Lamar University. Linda taught for many years at various schools across the state, and founded First Baptist Academy in Conroe, Texas. For those who knew her, teaching was where she was clearly able to use the many gifts and abilities that God blessed her with to minister to the world around her. From the first days of becoming a mother to Brooke and Tyler, she instilled in them a love for adventure and travel. From days spent camping with “We be Campers” to European expeditions, Linda loved exploring God’s creation. It brought Linda the greatest joy to be with her kids, Brooke and Tyler, as they met the loves of their lives and started their own families. Adored by the little ones, who affectionately called her Muy, Linda never missed an opportunity to express her love for children and grandchildren.Linda’s commitment to pursuing and investing in her friendships was seen and felt by so many.Her genuine smile and hospitable spirit drew others in and pointed those around her to Christ. With a spunky sense of humor that was contagious, there was never a dull moment when Linda was around.Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Rhoda and John Walker and her brother, Danny Walker. She is survived by her brother, Randy Walker, her sister-in-law, Judy Walker, her daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Jose Granados, her son and daughter-in-law, Tyler and Mary Page Davis, and her five grandkids: Kaylee and (soon to arrive) Everett Granados, Hayes, Wren and M. Davis.
