Linda Marie Maier

Linda Maier, age 81, passed away January 13th, 2025. Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 1st, 1944 to Edmund Jr. and Esther Moennich. She is survived by her husband Richard Maier, son Jeff Maier and wife Tracy, sister Susan Moennich, her four grandchildren Emma Bar, Canna Maier, Noah Bar, and Garrett Maier, her very needy golden retriever Gunner, and an expansive list of relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her sorely missed daughter, Sharon Bar. Linda spent an amazing life residing in multiple cities that included Chicago, IL, Walnut Creek, CA, Memphis, TN, Danville, CA, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Willis, TX. She had an infectious personality, remarkable sense of humor, a desire to help and mentor everyone, and a unique ability to connect with anyone she met. She never met a stranger. If you know, you know! She loved being around and talking to people which resulted in so many meaningful and trusting relationships that she greatly valued. After moving to Texas, Linda pursued a career in her life-long passion of real estate and quickly became a trusted source for guidance and support in the community. She also dedicated time to working with a golden retriever rescue organization (Golden Beginnings) to find suitable homes for dogs in need, several of which took up permanent residence at the Maier household. She loved living on Lake Conroe and could always be found sitting on her back porch overlooking the water, talking with loved ones, enjoying the sounds of nature, and doting on one of the many foster dogs she adopted as her own. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 am on February 1st, 2025 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, TX. For those who wish to stay, a reception with light snacks and drinks will follow.
