Kenneth Melvin Freeman

Kenneth M Freeman, 89 years old, passed away on September 3rd in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Kenneth was born on November 14, 1932 in Weimar, TX to Liby E and Winnie B Freeman, the 9th of 10 children. He was a Squad leader for a 50 caliber machine gun mount in the US Army and spent time in Germany. Kenneth proudly served as a city of Houston fire fighter for nearly 32 years retiring in January 1988. He was preceded by his parents of La Grange, TX. Father and mother-in-law Carl and Florence Collmorgen of Hockley. Sisters Mary Katherine Young (Frank), Estelle Key (John), Lily Mae Hawn (Charles), Winnie Davis Delgato (Richard), Dorothy Evelyn Trewitt (Luke) and brothers Garland Freeman (Anne), James William Freeman (Glenna), Edwin Freeman (Aline) and Gerald Horace Freeman. Daughter-in-law Tara L Freeman, brothers-in-law John P. and Carl Julius Collmorgen and a sister-in-law Rosa F Mynar. Survivors are beloved wife of 64 years, Marjorie J Freeman blessed with four children, Carole Jean Hamilton, Kenneth M Freeman (Gwen), Paula Ann Tamarit (Ezequiel) and Rebecca Gail Bourque (Jody). His sister-in-law, Loy Freeman and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends that loved him. Children, Grandchildren and great grandchildren Carole Hamilton, daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter, Cynthia Dumas, Lillian Dumas; Kenneth Freeman, son, Nicole Hicks (James) granddaughter, great grandchildren Johanna Kingston, Catlyn Hicks, Dylan Hicks; granddaughter, Erin Hunsaker (Matthew), great grandchildren, Lachlan Schielack, Lincoln Hunsaker; daughter, Paula Tamarit, grandchild, Jonathan Tamarit (Carlie Underwood, great grandchildren, Chloe Tamarit, Abigail Tamarit, Aubry Underwood; grandchild, Israel Tamarit (Mariah), great grandchildren,Eanna Tamarit, Jacee Tamarit, Asher Tamarit, Hallie Nichols, Jeremiah Tamarit, daughter,Rebecca Bourque, grandchildren, Chas Bourque, Briana Gallagher (Michael); great grandchildren,Aiden Gallagher, Reagan Gallagher, and grandson, Ethan Bourque. Pallbearers serving the family, Briana Gallagher, Ethan Bourque, Jonathan Tamarit, Michael Gallagher, Matt Hunsaker and Israel Tamarit. Visitation with famlly is 5-7 pm on Thursday at Sam Houston Funeral home at 20850 Eva St., Montgomery, TX. 77356. A funeral will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 9th in the chapel of West Conroe Baptist Church, 1855 Longmire Road, Conroe, TX 77304. Pastor Dr. Jay Gross will be officiating.
