Joy Dell Louise Heintschel

Joy Dell Louise Tieman Heintschel met her Lord and Savior face to face on January 7, 2024, after a brief illness in Huntsville, TX. She was a beloved wife, mother, Grandy, and great grandmother to her family and brought "Joy" to all who knew and loved her. Joy was born on October 9, 1934, in LaPorte, TX to Pauline and Earnest Tieman. She grew up in Baytown, TX, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She then met and married her love and soul mate, Jack Gordon Heintschel, Sr. They would have celebrated 71 years of marriage this month, January 23rd. After leaving Baytown, Joy and Jack resided in Houston and Deer Park before retiring to Elkins Lake in Huntsville, where they lived more than 25 years creating many happy memories of travel, volunteering, entertaining family and friends, and serving their church home, Faith Lutheran. They had been living independently at Carriage Inn, Huntsville, since February 2022. Joy is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Raymond, Charles, Harold, and Glen. She is survived by her husband, Jack, and children, Jack, Jr. (Peggy), Jan Pool (Paul), and Jerry Don (Judy). Further, she was blessed by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, of whom she was so proud. She is also survived by siblings, Leon, Jerry, and Peggy, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children. Family was so important to her and creating memories at big family gatherings brought her true happiness. Joy made friends wherever she lived and worked and continued to keep up with as many friends as possible as long as possible. She shared her faith with all and brought happiness and laughter to many with her big personality and quick wit. Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church, 111 Sumac Rd., Huntsville, TX at 1:00 p.m., with a reception following. All are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church and School, Huntsville. The family would like to thank Creekside Methodist Retirement Community for the wonderful and compassionate care she received during her last few weeks of life.
