G B Springer

G.B. Springer went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 9, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born October 6, 1932 in Magnolia, Texas. He is preceded in death by his son Gregory Bruce Springer, his parents Green Barry & Lottie Wells Springer, Brothers Eddie & Delbert Springer, Sister Edna Mae Vogt. G.B. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Almeda Rose Haude Springer. Daughters: Sherry Lynn Ritter and Shania Renee Springer, Daughter-in-law Teresa Springer, and sister Joceal Runnels. Grandchildren: Jeremy Ritter and wife Christina, Kellie Jo Kibby and husband Jason, Joni Gregory and husband Steven, Jona Baum and husband Royce. Great-grandchildren: Lexi and Jaycie Gregory, Kayla Baum, Drake and Jase Kibby, Eeva Ritter G.B. grew up in Huffsmith and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. He graduated from Tomball High School and attended Concordia Lutheran College. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He and Almeda were married at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Westfield and began their life together in Spring, Texas. As their family grew, they also lived in Klein and Huntsville. Being the family man that he was, his world revolved around his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grand babies. He spent most of his career in construction of TDCJ Units, various commercial projects, and custom homes. After he retired, he found he enjoyed creating stained glass art. He shared his love of God by gifting over a thousand crosses and faith-based pieces. Many of those were created using stained glass of the original Faith Lutheran Church building. Many children and adults have grown to know G.B. as a man who wore many hats - literally and figuratively. To many he was a sounding board, a father figure, a mentor, an advisor, and a friend. He enjoyed sharing stories, pulling pranks, and keeping us all in laughter with his wit and humor. He will be missed by so many, but his infectious smile, genuine love of family, friends, and church family will always remain with us. Services: Saturday, November 16, 2019 Faith Lutheran Church 10am Vistiation 11am Memorial Service It was G.B.’s wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church – Huntsville.
