Felicia Dain Sills

Felicia Sills, 80, lovingly known as NayNay, passed away on August 8, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, stories, and memories that will stay with her family forever. Born on October 23, 1945 in Houston, Texas, Felicia was the daughter of Jessica and Huey P. James. She spent her early years in Houston and went on to build a life filled with family, hard work, friendships, and countless memories. Felicia spent many years working as an apartment manager. She took pride in her work and, true to her nature, had a way of connecting with the people around her. Her career came to an unexpected end after a car accident left her with a serious neck injury. She was forced to retire earlier than she had planned, but that change gave her more time to devote to what would become the most important part of her life—her family. To her children and grandchildren, she was simply NayNay. The nickname was given to her by her oldest granddaughter Payton, and it became the name by which she was lovingly known and remembered. Being NayNay was one of the roles she cherished most. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy, and she loved being part of their lives, watching them grow, and making memories with them. When she was younger, some of her favorite memories were made with her children on trips to the Guadalupe River. Those days were filled with adventure, laughter, sunshine, and time spent together. She loved being with her children and creating the kind of memories that would stay with them long after the trips were over. Looking back, those river days became a special part of the family's story and a reminder of the joy she found in simply being together. As the years passed and her mobility became more limited, the adventures looked a little different, but her love of family and togetherness never changed. Some of her favorite moments later in life were spent around the table playing cards, especially Shang High. The games gave her a way to stay connected, laugh, talk, and enjoy time with the people she loved. There was always plenty of conversation, good-natured competition, and laughter around the table. She loved having her family together. Christmas was especially meaningful to her, and she looked forward to the times when everyone could gather, laugh, visit, and simply enjoy being together. For NayNay, the greatest gift was never what was under the tree—it was having the people she loved gathered around her. Anyone who knew NayNay knew she had a gift of gab. She could talk to just about anyone and truly had a way of never meeting a stranger. A conversation with her could start anywhere and somehow turn into a story, a laugh, or a new friendship. She made people feel welcome, heard, and cared for. That was NayNay's greatest gift—her ability to make people feel loved. She had a heart full of love and kindness and wanted everyone around her to feel the love she had to share. She gave that love freely to her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She didn't need a special occasion to show someone she cared. It was simply who she was. Family was her purpose. Her children and grandchildren gave her countless reasons to smile and filled her life with meaning. She found happiness in the ordinary moments: sitting together, telling stories, playing cards, celebrating Christmas, remembering trips to the river, and simply knowing that the people she loved were close. She also shared a lasting friendship and continued connection with her former husband, Billy Sills, who remained an active and important part of her life. Their relationship changed over the years, but the shared history, family, and friendship they built remained meaningful. And there was one more special companion who will feel her absence—her beloved pet, Walter. Walter was never far from her side and will surely miss the love, companionship, and presence of his NayNay. Felicia was preceded in death by her mother, Jessica James; her stepfather, Huey P. James; and her brother, Jackson Williams. She is survived by her three children, Tiffany Forester, Jessica Beeman and husband Brad, and Billy Sills; her former husband and longtime friend, Billy Sills; her stepbrother, Johnny Williams; her beloved grandchildren, Hayden and Houston Forester, Connor, Colton, and Cash Beeman, and Payton Sills, along with extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. NayNay's family will remember her in the moments that made her happiest: the adventures and river trips she shared with her children when she was younger, a house full of family at Christmas, laughter around a card table, stories that seemed to have no ending, and the simple comfort of knowing that everyone she loved was close. They will remember her gift of gab and the way she could talk to anyone. They will remember her kindness. They will remember her laughter and her stories. They will remember the way she loved having everyone together. They will remember how deeply she loved her grandchildren. And most of all, they will remember the way she made people feel—that they were loved, that they mattered, and that there was always room for them in her heart. Although her family will miss having her here to make new memories, they will carry NayNay with them in all the memories she gave them. Her love will live on in her children, her grandchildren, the traditions she helped create, the stories that will continue to be told, and the love her family shares with one another. She was NayNay. She was family. She was love. And she will be missed more than words can say.
