Donald Berry Hoke

Donald (Peewee) Hoke Donald (Peewee) Hoke was born in Houston, Texas to Donald and Inez Hoke. He served in the U.S. Army and was raised to Master Mason in the Reagan Masonic Lodge No. 1037 AF & AM in Houston, Texas. In 1963 he married Sharon Irene Cundiff, his wife and best friend of 46 years. Donald pursued a career in the pipeline industry and was instrumental in laying the first offshore pipeline in the North Sea. After 40 years in the pipeline industry, he retired to spend time with his family. Following two of his sons into the law enforcement field, Donald attended the Texas A&M Law Enforcement Academy and earned his Texas Peace Officers license at the age of fifty years old. Donald entered and retired from his second career as a Construction Program Manager with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Donald loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. After a courageous battle with leukemia, Donald went home to be with his savior at the age of sixty-six with his family by his side. Donald is survived by: wife, Sharon Irene Hoke, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Amanda Hoke, son Donald (Bubba) Hoke, son and daughter-in-law James and Marie Hoke, grandchildren Leslie Hoke, Dillon Hoke, Courtney Hoke, Lauren Hoke, Rebecca Hoke and Masyn Hoke, mother-in-law Inis Cundiff, brother and sister-in-law Joe (Buddy) and Jan Hoke, Sister and brother-in-law Bobby and Betty (Hoke) Fowler, brother and sister-in-law Frank (Pete) and Billie Hoke and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Isnardo Tremor, Dr. Elham Abbasi, the Huntsville Memorial medical staff, Thee Hospice, family and friends. Services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2010, 10:00 AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, Texas, Rev. Floyd Hoke officiating with interment at Buck Foster Cemetery in Walker County, Texas with Masonic Honors. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 5:00-7:30 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville.
