Crissa Alexis Kukua-Mallet

Crissa Alexis Kukua-Mallet Crissa Alexis Kukua-Mallet entered our world on September 15, 2001. She was given to Cameron Kukua-Lee and Mark Mallet and to our blended families to nurture and love, until she left our world to enter God’s kingdom on June 22, 2013. Crissa leaves behind two little sisters who love her very much: Kirsten Kukua and Kris Lee, and two little brothers: Greyson and Devon Mallet. She leaves behind step-father Chris Lee and the Lee and Hightower family. She also leaves behind grandparents: Karen Kukua, Penny “Mudda” and Rawlin Mallet, Rod and Diana Kukua, Minnie Jennings, and Walter and Laura Lee. Crissa leaves great-grandparents: Marion Mallet and Beverly Iglehart, Bob and Judith Kukua and Clarence Thomas. Crissa’s very special family members included Uncle Michael Kukua and Great Aunt Vicki O’Bryant (“G-Mama”), and Aunt Roz (“Rozzie”) Mallet. Special cousins are: Chad, Markcus, and Shawn, Lana, and Michaela. Crissa leaves behind a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special friends are: Ariana and Abbey. Crissa loved singing, dancing, swimming, cheerleading, and playing keyboard. Crissa was a big fan of Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Beyonce. Her favorite TV shows included: Pretty Little Liars, Duck Dynasty, Disney movies, and the Disney channel. She sang in the school choir in 3rd and 4th grade, was on yearbook staff in 5th grade, and was an honor roll student throughout her school years. Crissa loved Vacation Bible School, and participating in school talent shows. She was baptized and became a member of Pine Bluff Missionary Baptist Church where she joined the children’s choir. Crissa also loved to travel, and has been our little “diva world traveler” to places such as Dallas, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Florida. Crissa’s first flight was when she was just one month old. It was a short trip to San Antonio, but she has loved flying ever since. Crissa loved messaging with friends on her iPod, so much so that she was routinely losing iPod privileges. Yes, Crissa was our little first class diva. She loved clothes (brand names only please!), boots, purses, Bath and Body Works “Sweet Pea” scented items, and lots of pink and purple. She loved her hair flat-ironed, and she loved taking photos of herself and also welcomed others taking photos of her! Crissa loved playing big sister to Kirsten and Kris, especially “doing” their hair and nails. She wanted to be a cosmetologist and do hair and nails, and practiced her expertise on her sisters as often as possible. On Saturday, June 22, 2013, our little diva left flying First Class on a Life Flight helicopter with angels. The angels swept her away during flight, and we could not believe that our precious child was gone…only 11 years old…how could this be…so young, so full of life…not quite ready to fly with angels…we thought…. A Poem from Crissa:: If you had your way I wouldn’t be here I’d be there with you today Not far away, but near If you had your way I would grow up and old You would be okay You’d still have your child to mold Instead, God had His way He said “Child the Kingdom awaits…there is much to do!” The angels whispered, “Crissa, it’s okay. Angels need hair and nails done, too!” Services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas with interment to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Huntsville. Crissa will lie in state Friday, June 28, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a wake from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
