Anthony "Tony" Merle Morrison, Jr.

Anthony “Tony” Merle Morrison Jr., age 54, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. Tony, or “Sugarman“ as his father so endearingly called him, was born and raised on the backroads of Bedias and Huntsville. He loved fishing, racecars, and quality time with friends and loved ones. While attending Huntsville High School, he began on the floor crew in retail and worked his way up to the management team. Tony was a self-starter, professional and driven. He had a tremendous work ethic and commitment to his team, his customers, his friends, and his family. His humble, personable nature was proof of his genuine and selfless desire to not only get to know people but to always do right by them. These qualities are no doubt why Tony excelled in nurturing both professional and personal relationships. Tony met his wife, Linetta, in their youth. They shared 29 years together. Their bond was special, always picking on each other in loving ways. His devotion to Linetta, with her MS diagnosis, modeled the vows they exchanged. Tony was most proud of their son, Marshall. Marshall exudes his father’s best qualities, his work ethic, selflessness, kind spirit, and devotion to family and friends. Tony’s life was an example of how to treat others, how to work hard, and be the kind of person that others can count on. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Mary Ann and Anthony “Peanut” Merle Morrison, his sister-in-law Cari Hoke Nicholson, and his cousin, Byron Scott Chambers. Tony is survived by his wife, Linetta Sue Hoke Morrison, his son Marshall Alan Morrison, his brother Clinton “Bubba” Ervin Morrison Sr. and wife Marcy Billnoski Morrison, his father-in-law Bobby Lloyd Hoke and wife Martha Mathis Hoke, his sister-in-law Susie Hoke Gunnels, his nieces and nephews, Megan Nicholson Bennett and husband Austin, son Owen, Morgan Gunnels, Garrett Gunnels, Dr. Clinton Ervin Morrison, Jr. and wife Dr. Toni Franken, Dylan Montana Morrison and wife Teyah, son Aiden, Ben and Melissa Nicholson, daughter Delilah and son Jace, and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas.
