Tommy Lynn Jordan

Tommy Jordan was born as a twin at Montgomery County Hospital on 1st Street in Conroe, TX. Tommy Jordan was born before midnight on December 31st and his late, twin brother, Johnny, was born shortly thereafter. Funnily, the old timey doctor made them have the same birthday of December 31st 1946. He was born to James Thomas Jordan and Willie Mae “Pete” Harvill Jordan being the seconded, youngest of 9 children. He went to school at Anderson Elementary, Travis Jr High, followed by Conroe High School. He excelled in every academic area in every grade, making A’s, and belonging to The National Honor Society. He took drafting and landed a job with Moran Gas illustrating pipelines while he was in high school and graduated in 1965. Then he attended Sam Houston State University to study and graduate in Industrial Arts. While in his last semester at SHSU, Tommy was drafted into the US military, Army branch. Tommy Jordan married his wife, Wanda Holladay, and departed for basic training 2 weeks later. He was then selected to be transferred to Anchorage, Alaska, while the remainder of his troop was sent to Vietnam. Tommy became a writer, editor, and artist for the post newspaper, being personal driver to the base commander. When he returned to Conroe, TX Tommy completed his Bachelor’s degree at SHSU and went to work for the Houston Pipeline Company which would later become Enron. He worked for several, major oil and gas companies designing gas plants and pipelines. Tommy would later retire from Brown and Root. Tommy had many hobbies including building his and Wanda’s brick home in Conroe, TX. He did most of the construction as well as the interior design on the house from start to finish himself, including the roof and laying over 28,000 bricks. Tommy and Wanda later moved to Montgomery to live next door to their daughter, Tiffany, and granddaughter, Morgan. Both Tiffany and Morgan were known to be the “light of his eyes”. Tommy will be greatly missed. He fought valiantly against heart disease and ultimately will be joining hands with his late twin brother and other family members who were ahead of him. He has a new body and is now free of his pain and oxygen bottle. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda Holladay, his daughter and her husband, Tiffany and Terry Barrentine, and his granddaughter, Morgan Barrentine. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Bob, Harold Van and wife Lorri, James Kenneth Jordan and his sister, Wanda Jean Griffith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae, his father, Tommie, his brothers Jack Harvill, Marlin, and Johnny, and his sister, Joann Alvey, and his mother-in-law Betty Holladay. He was a member of the West Conroe Baptist Church and a member of the Encouragers Sunday school class. Officiating the service is Mr. John Reaves, a fellow classmate and friend of the family. The visitation will be at 1pm followed by a service at 2pm located at Sam Houston Funeral Home, 20850 Eva Street in Montgomery, TX. 77356.
