February 20, 1968 - October 7, 2021
Norman Gerald Hunter, of Huntsville, TX, passed peacefully into the presence of our Heavenly Father, at age 53, through the unfathomable mercy of God after his courageous battle with Covid-19. Norm had an obvious and vibrant passion for life, for Jesus, family, friends, and anyone he could encourage. He was a genuine, caring man who never met a stranger, and everyone who met Norm knew he cared about them. He loved Jesus with all he had, and especially loved to share about Him and the hope we have in walking with Christ. What Norm loved most, after Jesus, was being a devoted husband to his wife, Adriane, and a loving daddy to his children, Grace and Jonathan. Loving others well was Norm's gift. He loved to make people feel special, make us laugh, and to make sure we all knew that none of us were alone, no matter where we were. Norm was such a compassionate man. He would sit for hours with people, and because they felt safe with him, he would minister to them as only Norm could. If you ever spent any time with Norm there's no doubt you heard a story. He could sure share some stories and analogies about faith, Adriane, Grace, Jonathan, hunting at Castell, fishing, cars, buildings, theology, and government. You name it, and he could enthusiastically talk about it! Norm attended Fellowship of Huntsville Church since moving to Huntsville in 2006, was married there on September 16, 2006, and raised his family there. He owned Cabins and More of Texas where he enjoyed working hard to provide for his family, and he loved serving his customers well. Norm was excited to be a board member and Chaplain for the Trail Life scouting troop recently chartered by Fellowship of Huntsville, he had looked forward to ministering to the young men in the group, challenging them to grow in character, understanding their purpose, and developing practical leadership skills to carry out the mission for which they were created. Adriane, Grace, and Jonathan's prayer is that the impact of Norm's life will have ripple effects for eternity in all our lives. Norm is survived by his loving wife, Adriane, and his beloved children, Grace and Jonathan. He is also survived by his mother, Annette Williams; father, Gerald Hunter and wife Susan; brother Cody Martin; father-in-law David Willenberg and wife Margie; brother-in-law Clint Willenberg and wife Amber; nephew and nieces Matthew, Julia, and Bethany Willenberg; and numerous extended family and friends whom Norm loved and whose lives he touched. Norm was preceded in death by his grandfather Norman Renfro and wife Elizabeth Renfro; grandfather James Hunter and wife Donna Hunter; and father, Morris Williams. Well done, Norm. You were a good and faithful servant, and you are experiencing your reward. To God be the glory, and it is indeed, well with our souls. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1:00pm at Fellowship of Huntsville Church, with the services immediately following at 2:00pm. Norm will be laid to rest at Trinity United Methodist Cemetery in Castell, TX on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 4:00pm. Memorial condolences to the family may be made at www.shmfh.com. If you feel led to make a donation to Trail Life, please send to Fellowship of Huntsville Church, 3895 State Highway 30 W, Huntsville, TX 77340, in honor of Norman Hunter.
