Mrs. Maria Salome Martinez, age 84, of Huntsville, TX passed away March 15, 2017. She was born March 13, 1933 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Mrs. Martinez grew up in Ramones and lived in Monterrey until she moved to Huntsville in 1967, when she married Joe M Martinez Jr. The loves in her life were her family, crocheting and managing her rent houses. Preceded in death by husband, Joe M. Martinez Jr.; parents, Jesus Rodriguez Lozano and Salome Leal de Rodriguez; brother Jesus Rodriguez Leal “Tio Chuy”; sister-in-law Olivia Trevino Rodriguez Leal; nephew Jesus Rodriguez Trevino; brothers-in-law Joel Martinez and Manual Martinez and sister-in-law Mercedes Martinez. Survived by children, Joe J. Martinez of Burbank, California, Joe A. Martinez, and wife, Angela of Huntsville, TX; Javier Martinez and wife Jo Beth of Cypress, TX; grandchildren, Brittany Langley and husband Rhett of Huntsville, TX, Morgan Martinez, Joshua Martinez and Conner Martinez of Cypress, TX, Brandon Martinez and Logan Martinez of Huntsville; great-grandchildren, Landon, Noah, and Lily Langley of Huntsville, TX; cousin Victor Melendez Leal and wife Lilly; nephews Hector, Esteban, Abelardo and Javier Rodriguez; nieces Libby and Elva Rodriguez of Los Ramones, NL; brother-in-law Sam Martinez and wife Marie of Huntsville TX; brother-in-law Andrew Martinez and wife Ila of Huntsville TX; and many more loved ones that were dear to her heart. The family wants to thank Maria, Maricela and Letty, along with their families for the commitment, care and compassion they shared with our mother the past couple of years. They are truly angels of God here on earth and we are forever grateful. Funeral services for Mrs. Maria Salome Martinez will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Huntsville, TX with Father Fred officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX.
