Frances Emma Moss (Hanf)

Frances Emma Moss passed away in Conroe, Texas on April 29, 2017 at the age of 99. Frances was born July 25, 1917 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Henry J. Hanf and Frances Hanf. Frances married Russell Albert Moss on August 3, 1940 her husband of 72 years. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Frances Moss was a virtuous, kind and loving woman that enjoyed a good laugh. A devout Christian, Frances was never without faith and worked her entire life to instill the word of God in those around her. Frances along with husband Russell founded the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and was an active member in several church communities including the United Methodist Church in Montgomery and the Walden Community Church. She often gave her time to others and worked as a volunteer for many years with the Montgomery County Food Bank and the Montgomery County chapter of AARP. A consummate baker, her recipes were loved by all especially her famous chocolate chip cookies. Frances had a great love of the outdoors and nature and taught many a family member how to fish. She was also an avid basketball fan and was never far from cheering on the Houston Rockets. Frances met her husband Russell Moss in her native Missouri and worked in the factories to provide for the family while Russell fought overseas during World War II. After the war in 1952, Russell and Frances Moss moved to the Houston area with their two children to reside until present. Frances was preceded in death by husband Russell Albert Moss, first son Donald Charles Moss, parents Henry and Frances Hanf, sisters Helen Lohmire, Juanita Hanf , Berta Story, Pauline Hanf and brother Paul Hanf. She is survived by her two children and their families: Daughter Gail Beale and husband, Ron, oldest son Ronnie Beale, wife Jennifer and their daughters Breanna, Kierstein and husband Ryan and son Rhett; son Rick Beale and wife Lashelle and their sons Brandon, Jeremy and Matthew; son Rusty Beale and wife Shawn and their son Tyler, wife Colleen and son Stetson, daughter Ashton, husband Blake and son Beaux and daughter Cameryn. Their son, Gary Moss and wife Jan, their daughter Heather Burrer, husband Scott and their children Foster and Caroline; son Charles Skyler Moss and wife Nicole and their children Owen and Cooper. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Beale, Ricky Beale, Rusty Beale, Scott Burrer, Charles Moss and Tyler Beale. Our family would like to thank the following individuals and services for their dedication and hard work helping our mother through the last several years of her life; Dr. Steven Stowers, the employees of Live Oak Assisted Living and Bright Pointe at Rivershire Health Care, the doctors and staff at St. Luke’s Hospital- The Woodlands, Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home and Walden Community Church. A visitation and viewing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., May 4, 2017, at the Walden Community Church located at 12400 Walden Road, Montgomery, Texas. Services will be held immediately following the visitation at 10:30 a.m. Burial services will be from 2:00-2:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive., Houston, Texas.
