Doyce F. Cook Doyce F. Cook, a beloved husband, loving father and grandfather passed away on November 18, 2015. A 5th generation Walker County native, Doyce was born in Huntsville, TX, April 5, 1949. Doyce began his law enforcement career as a Walker County Deputy Sheriff. Soon after, he was selected to become a Special Texas Ranger with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and assigned to the Wharton County Area. After retiring in 2005, Doyce became a special investigator for the Camp County Sheriff’s Office. Later, Doyce went to work for J.P. Morgan Chase as the Vice President of Farm and Ranch Properties. Doyce was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He always had a love for the cowboy way of life and especially for the great state of Texas. Doyce is survived by his wife Martha; son Dusty Lee Cook; grandson, Chance; granddaughter, CeCe; son Lance Anthony Cook; step-daughter, Erin Garrison and husband, Grant; step-grandsons, Bo and Barrett Garrison; sister, Mary Lois “Sissy” Owen and late husband, John; brother, William Cook and wife, Verla; sister, Ruby Thomas and husband, James; brother, Kenneth Cook and wife, Betty. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, the coffee group, and extended family. Doyce was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nona Cook. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park Drive, Huntsville, Texas. A service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 23, 2015 in the chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be sent to the Texas Sheriff’s Association in the memory of Doyce. These funds will be used for a scholarship in the hopes of supporting the future generations of Texas Lawmen.
