Dennis Warren Durdin

Dennis Warren Durdin went Home to be with his Savior on May 15, 2024 at the age of 77, surrounded by his two precious daughters and other family members. Dennis was born on March 3, 1947 in Crockett, Texas. Dennis loved his family fiercely and that was reflected in his hard work and dedication. Dennis proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a paratrooper and drill sergeant in the United States Army. After returning home, he worked in different jobs until he joined his stepdad, Pete Massey, in business. Dennis had the drive and commitment to run his own company. In time, Pete separated the company and Dennis purchased the second business. He worked tirelessly and grew it into a very successful company for over 40 years before selling and retiring. Dennis is survived by and will forever be remembered by his daughters, Shelly Jackson and son-in-love Elmer, and Amanda Morse and son-in-love Donny; his grandchildren Cody Jackson (Kelsie), Kelli Jackson (Kenzie), Gage Morse, and Mavis Jewell Morse; his great grandchildren, Harper Jackson, Emersyn Jackson, Warren Jackson, and Chandler Lewis; his siblings Ed Durdin (Robbie), Carl “Tiger” Durdin (Bridgette), Connie Touchstone (Reed), Bonnie Shoemaker (Bruce ), Maureen Tucker (Jim), Shirley Talley (Jay), Doyle Massey (Becca), and Stacey Loll (Clyde); very dear friends (like family) Craig Mayo and Daphnia Kimble, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife and love of his life, Kathy Durdin, his parents: Jewell (mom) and Ernest “Pete” (stepdad) Massey, and Maurice (dad) and Madelyn (stepmom) Durdin. Pallbearers are: Cody Jackson, Gage Morse, Wade Durdin, Drew Durdin, Dylan Poindexter, and Craig Mayo. Honorary Pallbearers are: Carl “Tiger” Durdin, Ryan Durdin, Trey Durdin, Michael Shane Griffin, Bowen Pratka, and Jason Tucker. Service will be officiated by Clyde Loll on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 10:30am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park, Huntsville, TX 77340. The family will hold a private interment at Antioch Cemetery, Lovelady, TX at a later date. The family thanks Heart-to-Heart Hospice for their excellent care.
