Charles Edward Nance II Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles Edward Nance II went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2022 at the age of 68. He was the husband of Linda (Haynes). They shared 49 years of marriage together. Charles was born in Houston, Texas, on October 18, 1953, to Charles Edward and Josephine Marie (Jozwiak) Nance. He graduated from Huntsville High School and attended Sam Houston State University. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1972 and was honorably discharged having received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Rifle Expert Badge. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda, in 1973, in San Diego, California. After a few years in California, he moved with his wife and young son, Robert back to Huntsville, TX where his daughter Heather "Rae" was born. He worked for Louisiana Pacific for 24 years. After retiring from LP, he went on to be a consultant for various timber companies. He then spent 5 years at Home Depot and finished his career working for his son at Alliance Geotechnical Group as an Engineering Technician. Charles had an adventurous spirit. He was a certified diver, enjoyed sports, and fast cars. He enjoyed trying new things. Once he was engaged, he was fully invested; whether it was billiards - where he played in and won many tournaments, or taking up photography where he worked events and was always behind the camera. He was an avid reader, especially studying the Bible, and loved cars, coins, and guns. Driven by high-standards, he devoted countless hours to studying his hobbies and researching the most exclusive and elusive to collect. He loved his family dearly and found true joy being an active Papa - there weren't too many events he missed for his grandchildren. Charles is survived by his wife Linda (Haynes) Nance of Huntsville, TX; son, Robert Preston Nance and wife Dorothy of Coppell, TX; daughter, Heather Rae (Nance) Morris and husband Julius of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Brock Preston Nance, Destiny Michelle Morris, Julius Antony Morris, and Nicholas Preston Nance. He is also survived by his brother Paul G. Nance; sisters: Eva Nance Blackard and Robbin Nance McDaniel; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded by his parents. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 11am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home 1700 Normal Park Dr, Huntsville, TX 77340.
