DR. YACK CLAYTON MOSELEY Dr. Yack Clayton Moseley, 82, went home peacefully to be with our Lord, surrounded by his family and loved ones Saturday, July 4, 2009. He was born in Izoro, Texas, June 20, 1927. In 1944 he was drafted by the US Army and worked his way into the Army Air Corps, which became the United States Air Force in 1947. In 1950 he was deployed to Korea flying over 50 missions in B-29s over the Pusan Peninsula. Returning from Korea, Moseley married Genevela Getchell of San Antonio. They had four children, Jeff, John, Brenda and Scott. He then pursued a career in higher education obtaining a Ph.D in Agricultural Engineering from Oklahoma State University. His teaching assignments included a six year contract with OSU in Ethiopia and a 20 year tenure as professor of Agricultural Engineering at Sam Houston State University. Yack Moseley loved the Lord and loved serving his church. He cherished his community, serving as President of the breakfast Kiwanis Club and long-time member of the Gideons International. He stepped up to help with a variety of leadership roles in the Church of the Nazarene including Board member, treasurer, and taught Sunday School for more than 50 years. He loved to meet people from all walks of life. He never met a stranger, they were simply new friends that he hadn’t yet had the opportunity to meet. He is preceded in death by his father Randall Lawton Moseley, his brother Jeff Rayburn and sister Linda Gutierrez. He is survived by his mother Mildred Moseley, sister Deletta Washburn, brother Kendall, his wife of 57 years, Genevela, son Jeff (Jackie), son John (Ariel), daughter Brenda Christopher (Justin), son Scott (Amie), and six grandchildren, Hank, Evelyn, Joi, Jenni, Ryannah and Hampton. Yack Moseley will lie in state at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville Wednesday, July 8 from 9 AM to 8 PM. And Thursday, July 9 from 9 AM until the 2 PM funeral service. Family visitation will be Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be at Brooke Cemetery, Huntsville, Texas In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Huntsville First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 3707 SH 30W, Huntsville, TX 77340, or the charity of your choice.
