William Joseph

William (Pro) Joseph, Jr. was born in Opelousas, La., January 13, 1935 to the late William Joseph, Sr. and Jane Harrison-Joseph. He received his Christian discipline in the Catholic Church. A native of Opelousas, he was reared from early childhood in Lake Charles, La until he entered the United States Army. After two decades of patriotic military service he retired and gave another two decades of dedicated service to the United States Postal Service. During his many stations during his military service, he became a member of the Masonic brotherhood in Paris, France; he parted the square as an Honorary 33° mason of Prince Hall Affiliation. He was preceded in death by his son United States Army Captain Marlon D. Joseph, his three brothers Leroy Joseph, Shirley Joseph, Robert Charles (R.C.) Joseph, and one sister Edna Mae Joseph. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 54 years Ernestine C. Williams-Joseph, two beloved daughters, Michelle Joseph and Sharon Adams, and his cherished granddaughter, Trendi M. Adams. He is also survived by one brother Curly Joseph and his wife Elizabeth of Houston, TX; and one sister, Jean Marie Joseph of Lake Charles, La. William also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends. He was a kind and loving father, known for his intellect and wisdom. He was a provider, protector, a man of strength and purpose who was always willing to help others and share his wisdom with younger people. Romans 14: 7-9 7:For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8:For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9:For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. William Joseph, Jr., 75, was called home by his Heavenly Father, his Lord and Savior, June 11, 2010. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the VA National Cemetery in Houston, Texas with military honors. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas.
