William Kelly Ferguson

William Kelly Ferguson went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who he deeply loved on May 6, 2014. Kelly was born June 1, 1992 and is survived by his parents William "Bill" and Shannon Ferguson. He was the love of their life and the apple of their eye. What Kelly lacked in height he made up for with a larger than life persona. He enjoyed crazy haircuts, big hats, cowboy boots and culinary tattoos. He possessed a great heart, touching the life of every person who crossed his path. From the mountains of Colorado to the Island of Anguilla, Kelly Ferguson never met a stranger. Kelly lived his life to the fullest and infused happiness and laughter into everyone around him. There was never a dull moment with Kelly. He loved fast cars, big trucks, women, two stepping, and beating his friends at pool. He was a member of a three-peat state championship golf team at his Alma Mater, Alpha Omega Academy. After high school, Kelly took his talents to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Known affectionately in those circles as "Kelly the Cowboy", it was there he refined and developed his lifelong love of cooking. Kelly then brought that love back to Texas, where he rose to the position of Sou Chef at Reef Restaurant in Houston, Texas. Kelly was few and far between, truly one in a million. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his friends and family that will never be forgotten. Kelly is also survived by his sister April Smiley. His grandparents preceded him in death; paternal grandmother Ruth Miller, and Kelly was especially adored by his maternal grandmother, Barbara Youree. Kelly is also survived by many extended family members. Although the Lord took Kelly young, his legacy lives on through the lives of those who loved him. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8th, at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 9th, at University Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas with Pastor Richard Rogers presiding. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm, Farris Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas. A foundation has been established in Kelly’s name at Alpha Omega Academy. Donations made to Kelly’s Kitchen, the new kitchen facility. Donations will be used to furnish and supply the new kitchen to honor Kelly’s memory and his passion for the culinary arts.
