William Lee Burns, Jr. William Lee Burns, Jr. passed away in his home in Elkins Lake, Huntsville, Texas on October 15, 2011. Born in Cameron, Missouri on November 16, 1918 to Ruth Robinson Burns and William Lee Burns, Sr. Bill lived most of his life in Texas City, Texas. It was in Texas City that he met and married Alice Joyce Broussard in Galveston, Texas on August 29, 1940. Mr. Burns worked for 40 years at the Amoco Refinery. He dearly loved his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who especially loved passing these skills onto his grandchildren. Bill served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a Master Mason for over 70 years affiliated with Texas City Lodge #1118 A.F. & A.M. Texas City and Wimberley Lodge #1445 A.F. & A.M., Wimberley. Mr. Burns was preceded in death by Alice Joyce Burns, his wife of 70 years, his Mother, Ruth Berg, sister Elizabeth Burns Moore, sister, Edith Burns, niece, Sandra Hopkins and precious grandson Tynan Andoe. Survivors include daughters, Vickie Lindeman and husband Richard, Sherry Johnson and husband Barry, Melinda Perzan and husband Rick and Rebecca Andoe and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Blair Powell and wife Lisa, Ellis Powell and wife Blair; Linden Wooderson, Robyn Wooderson and father Bob Wooderson, Sarah Ainsworth and husband Sterling, Turner Andoe, Tucker Andoe, Tindall Andoe; great-grandchildren, Blair Powell III, Chase Powell, Isla Powell, Ella Powell, Lyla Powell, Hank Moellenberg, and Tanner Andoe and his mother, Marissa Guerrero; sister-in-law Flo Frederick and nephew, Woody Hopkins, who was like a son to Joyce and Bill, niece Patty Kreiling and husband Wayne, niece Marsha Osborn and husband Don and great nephew John Bares and great niece, Tammy Shields, Memorial services will be held Friday, October 21, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at the Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery in Huntsville under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
