Wayne Gayle Tiner

Wayne Gayle Tiner went to be with the Lord April 28, 2018 he was at home when he was called and went peacefully. Wayne was a beloved husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He was 81 years old. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma October 1, 1936, the son of Hester Ann Tiner and Claud J. Tiner. He was the youngest of 13 children. He graduated from Ada's Latta High School in1954. Where he enjoyed playing basketball. Later that year he enlisted in the United States Navy. After the Navy he moved to California attended Healds College graduating in 1961 with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. He then attended Columbia School of Broadcasting after that he went to work for KPIX channel 5 in San Francisco. He enjoyed working at KPIX for many years, meeting many celebrities and professional athletes. He helped invent the first remote van that revolutionized the way we watch live news being reported today. He loved sports, if the A's, the Giants or the 49ers were televised he would work as a cameraman so he could be on the field watching the games. He coached both sons in little league baseball. He was also a pilot, he loved to fly. The monotony of driving a car would make him fall asleep, but if he was up in the sky he would stay awake forever. In the 80's he decided he wanted a change and went to work for Bechtel and took a position in Saudi Arabia. While there he built a production studio for King Fahd. He also taught people how to operate the production studio. While there he and his wife Jerrie were able to travel all over the world. He was an amateur photographer, he loved taking pictures of family and all the places he traveled to, coming back to the states showing and telling us all about them. After he came back to the states, he worked at a KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri and then moved on to work in Wilmington, North Carolina at WECT. Then decided to retire in Ada, Oklahoma. In 2013 he and his wife moved to Huntsville, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Jerrie Tiner; five children: daughter Pam Alwes and husband Bill of Kuna, Idaho; daughter Bj Stephens and husband John of Huntsville, Texas; son Randy Tiner and wife Janet of Fremont, California; daughter Tammy Bass of Ada, Oklahoma; son Al Bass and wife Tara of Liberty, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren: grandson Bill Alwes Jr. of Star, Idaho; grandson Jamie Alwes and wife Cesi of Middleton, Idaho; granddaughter Jennifer Tatsumi and husband Soshi of Boise, Idaho; granddaugher Melody Stepehens of Huntsville, Texas; grandson James Stephens of Cleveland, Texas; granddaughter Rena Jimenez and husband Marco of Huntsville, Texas; grandson Nicky Stephens and wife Michele of Chico, California; granddaughter Jessica Bertling and husband Blake of Bryan, Texas; granddaughter Megan Salinas and boyfriend Jeff Hieber of Fremont, California; grandson Andrew Tiner and girlfriend Samantha Heinemann of Fremont, California; granddaughter Amber Huffman-Hicks and husband Jonnathon of Stillwater Oklahoman; granddaughter Leann Pittman and husband Miles of Ada, Oklahoma; grandson Aaron Bass of Savannah, Missouri; grandson Calin Bass of Liberty, Missouri; grandson Shane Bass of Liberty, Missouri; twenty two great grandchildren: Kelly Alwes; Sam Alwes; Aaron Alwes; Macayla Boneck and husband Zachary; Dakota Alwes; Julianna Alwes; Aston Alwes; Landon Alwes; Savannah Alwes; Triton Tatsumi; Skye Tatsumi; Jeff Stephens; Nicholas Moore-Bodinger; Allison Moore-Bodinger; Julianna Stephens; Tony Jimenez; Johnny Stephens; Olivia Bertling; Lea Salinas; Kylie Pittman; Alton Pittman; Savannah Pittman; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
