Travis Lee Pool Travis was born December 3, 1939 in Richards, Texas and passed away Monday afternoon, February 3, 2014 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Visitation will held from 5-8 pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas, Wednesday, February 5th. Services will be held at 10am Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Richards United Methodist Church, with burial following at Bays Chapel Cemetery. Travis always had numerous projects in the works, building hotrods, racecars, engines, guns & knives. His most recent purchase is a 1954 “Seagraves” fire truck, which he had plans to restore. His pride and joy was his 1923 Model “T” Roadster with a Lincoln V-12 motor in it along with his 2002 Harley. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed Barbequing Briskets. He was on the Mobil Cook Team for many years while living in Monahans, Texas. He graduated from Richards High School in 1959 and retired from Mobil Oil Corp. in May 1995 with over 34 years of service. He is survived by his Brenda Nell Pool of almost 52 years marriage; son Gary D. Pool and wife Gwen of Richards; daughter-in-law Susan Pool of Montgomery, Texas. Grandchildren Allen Pool, Amanda Walding and husband Slade of Richards, Sidney Pool and Morgan Pool of Montgomery and Great Grandson Kilan Cross “Thumper” Walding of Richards, Texas. Two Brothers Homer Pool and wife Elsie, Joey Pool and wife Jane all of Richards; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law Mike and Cindy Matchett, Neil Keisler and Nancy Moriarty Keisler of Richards. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence Eben and Hattie Lou Pool and son Barry Lynn Pool. Mother and Father-In-Law Lester and Katherine Keisler. Travis was loved and respected by many. He will be missed by those who called him, Husband, Daddy, Paw Paw, Brother, Uncle and Friend. They broke the mold when they made him.
