Travis Carrothers

Travis Eugene Carrothers, 52, of Mulvane, KS passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Travis was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Wellington, KS on April 4, 1969 to Roy A. and Judith A. Carrothers. He is survived by his parents Roy A. Carrothers of Vian, OK and Judith (Carrothers) Garrett of Montgomery, TX, brother Troy A. Carrothers of Mequon, WI, half-sister Tayler H. Carrothers of Vian, OK, step-brother Terry Garrett of Lubbock, TX along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and close friends whom he considered extended family. Travis attended high school in Belle Plaine, KS and college at Friends University in Wichita, KS. Travis worked in the construction trade before beginning his career in furniture sales and promotional management, where he made many friends within the company he worked for while also forging lasting relationships with many of the local proprietors he represented. Travis’ sales and management career came to an end in 2014 as a result of his battle with Cancer. Travis had a large personality and had a knack for making people laugh. His dry sense of humor was contagious. He enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends and relatives, but he was also very tender-hearted. Prior to his illness, he willingly helped many of his friends in their time of need. Because he was a big kid at heart, he was adored by small children, the elderly and family pets. He was known for his out-going personality and never hesitated to let people know he loved them. Travis was loved by many and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. An informal get-together will be held on Saturday, August 13 at the Belle Plaine Community Center. Please join us at your leisure between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to remember, grieve, exchange special stories and laugh, all in memory of Travis. For those wishing to make donations in Travis’ memory, suggestions would be the American Cancer Society, your local Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
