Rosa Lee Thumann

Rosa Lee Wojcik Thumann, 96, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2021 with family by her side. She will be missed by many. She was born on September 7, 1924 in New Waverly, Texas to Mary (Belinowski) and Burnice Wojcik. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Ann Price; parents Mary and Burnice Wojcik; brothers Walter and Louise Wojcik and sister Beatrice Wood. Rosa Lee is survived by her daughter Mary Noack of Sealy, Texas; grandchildren Mitchell Noack and wife Lisa, Tina Perez and husband Roland, Cortney Price and husband David Thelen, Heather Cain and husband Stephen; great-grandchildren Buddy Noack and wife Brandi, Lauren Beard and husband Matt, Brandon, Zachary and Kaylee Perez, Avery and Brody Thelen and Shyloh Cain; great-great grandson Kanin Noack. Rosa Lee was a devout Catholic and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Huntsville, Texas. As a child, she attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly, Texas. She graduated from New Waverly High School in 1943 and later moved to Houston where she was employed by Sears & Roebuck. Some years later she made Huntsville her home and was employed by Huntsville Memorial Hospital for 23 years until her retirement in 1989. Rosie or Grandma Rosie, as she was known by many, always enjoyed being updated about current family events. She was one of a kind, soft spoken, never spoke a bad word or gossiped about anybody. If in that situation, her favorite words were “Let’s talk about something else”. Her hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing and her trips to the Coushatta Casino with her friends from the Huntsville Senior Center. A special thank you to Dr. Cole for his trusted care over the years. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Noack, Buddy Noack, Roland Perez, Brandon Perez, Zachary Perez, Matt Beard, Wes Price and Steve Noack. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Elmina Cemetery.
