Rita Gloria Ghirardi

It is with profound sadness that the family of Rita Gloria Ferracci Ghirardi, announces her passing on June 12, 2025. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she peacefully passed away in Huntsville, TX. Rita was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion and generosity. Rita was born on August 20, 1924, in Worcester, Massachusetts to parents James Vincent Ferracci and Josephine Catherine Buccico Ferracci. She attended all 12 years of her grade school at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Marlborough, MA and was a devout Catholic her whole life. She was a kind, strong, loving woman who always put her family first. Rita had a passion for sports, especially the Houston Astros and she loved traveling with the Houston Oilers. After retirement, Rita returned to her roots several times in Italy. She loved to take cruises with her family and was a fantastic storyteller, mostly of childhood memories. Rita was a lifelong giver. She will be remembered for her positivity, infectious smile, warm hugs and wise counsel. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. Rita is survived by her children, Ann Marie Williams, Rebecca Lynn McGaughey, and Victoria Dee Hogan and friend Coach Jerry Kindred; grandchildren Dirk Williams (wife Kay), Dustin McRae (wife Amy), Chase McRae (wife Brittany), and Ryan McGaughey (wife Brittany); great grandchildren Drake Williams (wife Lakin), Maci Williams, Amzie and Evie McRae, Kyndal, Porter and Harper McRae, and Violet McGaughey. She is also survived by her great-great grandchildren Elizabeth, Ryder and Judson Williams; her special nephew Donnie Gay, Jr. and family; her dear friends Sarah, Sally and Nelma and her bonus daughter Melissa. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Josephine Ferracci. A rosary honoring her life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Huntsville, TX. A catholic mass will follow at 11:00 AM. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice, Jessica Brock, RN, and their staff for taking excellent care of our mother. She was blessed to have had many wonderful caregivers over the years, that treated her like royalty, and she loved like family.
