Richard Lee Brent

Richard Lee Brent, 78, of Conroe, Texas, peacefully passed away on September 12, 2025, after a brief illness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and unforgettable memories that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Richard was born in Trinity, Texas, on February 7, 1947, and raised in Conroe, Texas. After completing high school, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Montrose (APA-212) in the ship’s store and supply. Throughout his service, Richard demonstrated dedication and courage, earning several medals, including the Bronze Star, a testament to his bravery and commitment. Richard discovered his professional calling in sales, where his outgoing personality, quick smile, and natural ability to connect with people made him a leader. He built a strong real estate career on hard work, honest conversations, and a deep sense of loyalty. With his booming laugh, his love for sharing good times with family and friends, and his signature phrase 'groovy,' Richard had a special way of bringing joy, warmth, and laughter wherever he went. An avid hunter and fisherman, Richard treasured his time on the deer lease, casting a line on the water, and gathering around the campfire with friends. Over the years, he mentored many young men while enjoying the outdoors and his favorite pastimes. Richard was a member of Conroe Masonic Lodge #748, where he was raised a Master Mason. He would continue his work in masonry with the Scottish Rite, obtaining the 32nd degree. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 36 years, Karen Nichols Brent; his daughter, Brandi Brent Carlile; his parents, Clyde Lee Brent and Irene Smith Brent; and his brother, Howard Brent. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life. He leaves behind a loving circle of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory: his son, Sam Senor; grandchildren, Brandon Fick, Brooke Fick, and Kenady Carlile; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Allan Burson; his sister-in-law, Darin Bailey, and her husband, Beryl; his cherished bonus family—Tamarah Courtright Curtis, Koty Curtis, Trinity Courtright and Jenny Guinn Bosley; along with nieces, nephews, and a host of friends whom Richard loved deeply, embracing them all as family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
