Raymond Poole

Raymond Edward Poole, 70, of Montgomery, Texas, left the bonds of earth and went to be with his Savior on Friday, December 14, 2012. He passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and friends. Raymond was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend of many. Raymond was preceded in death by his father, W. E. Poole, stepfather Joe Greer and father-in-law and mother-in-law Chester and Paula Broussard. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of more than 51 years, Pam Poole; daughters Beverly Rosendahl and Suzy Johnson; sons Jeff Poole (wife Lisa) and Robert “Bo” Poole (wife Carey); grandchildren Carly Rosendahl; Riley, Chesten and Laney Johnson; Josh, Jesslyn, Aubrey and Nikki Poole; and Maddie, Tanner and Jackson Poole. Also surviving are mother Marcelle Greer and sisters Glena Grisham (husband Freddie) and Louise Parkins and many numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston on September 12, 1942, Raymond was a 1960 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School. He also graduated from Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches in 1966 with a degree in Business Administration. A natural businessman, Raymond was a founding partner of Metal Building Components, Inc. in Houston, TX. He also co-founded a successful valve business, Resun, in Tomball, TX. He sold Resun at the age of 45 and began his retirement doing what he loved, raising cattle. P-6 Cattle Company was started in Calvert TX. in 1972. The operation was moved to Lake Creek Ranch in Montgomery, TX. in 1981 where he lived out his dream of ranching every day. He was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersville, where he was a founding member of the Finance Council and its first Vice Chairman. He loved the church and gave his whole heart to its service. Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling, but his greatest joy was storytelling. No one could tell a funnier, more wonderfully elaborate story than Raymond. It’s just one of the many things about Raymond that his friends and family will miss. A visitation will be held Monday, December 17 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersville from 6:00-8:00 PM, with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial is set for Tuesday, December 18 at 10:30 at St. Mary’s, followed by internment in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
