Nellie Jane Eastham

Nellie Jane Krehbiel Eastham, age 89, (or, as she often said, "I'm almost 100.") of Huntsville, Texas entered into rest with the LORD on September 12, 2018. Visitation: 5:00-7:00pm, September 18, 2018 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas. Funeral: 10:00am, September 19, 2018 in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas. Graveside Service: 2:00 pm, September 19, 2018 Magnolia Cemetery, 603 N. Nellius St., Woodville, Texas 75979 (entry). Nellie is survived by her sister Judy Kay Krehbiel Goering and husband H. Keith of Moundridge, Kansas. Also, by her four daughters: Cathryn Lee Warren and husband Shane St. Clair of Las Vegas, Nevada, Randi Renee Jackson and husband Michael David Sr. of Huntsville, Texas, Celia "Cyndi" Eastham of Huntsville, Texas, and Robyn Rochelle Cox and husband William Franklin IV of Bel Air, Maryland; grandson David Jackson Jr. and wife Anhthu, grandson Bryce Eubanks and wife Christi, granddaughter Camille Sauerbier and husband Jason, granddaughter Dr. ErinLeigh Williams and husband Dr. Aaron Williams, grandson Edmon Eastham and wife Anna, and grandson Chaplain Grant Eubanks and wife Amanda; seven great-grandchildren: Aiden Le Jackson, Alannah Eubanks, Hannah Eubanks, Joel Eubanks, Ryker Williams, Maverick Sauerbier, Logan Eastham, and Maia Eastham; and a host of family and friends. She was born in Moundridge, Kansas, an active German Mennonite farming community, on November 25, 1928 to Lee M. and Kate Krehbiel. Nelle was a passionate Bible teacher. Her love for the Word continued throughout her life. She taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Woodville and finished her teaching years at University Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and taught in public school as well. Nellie was married on August 8, 1948 to Edmon Monroe Eastham, a WW2 Marine Veteran from Saratoga, Texas. As a young widow she took the opportunity to go to China on a mission trip. We are in awe of the comments made by people about our mother. As a friend expressed her love for mom in this way: "Your mom was such a special lady full of grace and wisdom. Whenever anyone asked who we think of as our spiritual mentor, your mom is always first to come to mind." Beverly Johnson. We are so thankful for the prayers and love we have received from those whose lives were touched by mom. Mama blessed our lives with her love. We were privileged to witness her entry into paradise. She was an amazingly phenomenal mother. Did we do good? …Oh, well, Mama tried. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
