Mildred Lee Fountain

Mildred Lee Bell Fountain, “Memaw,” age 86 of Montgomery, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 6, 1930, in New London, Texas, to Thomas Jefferson Brooklyn Bell and Ottie Lee (Cook) Bell. Mildred’s supreme affection for her husband of 62 years, Neuie Delemar Fountain, served as the perfect example of a Christian marriage. Together they raised their two daughters in Dallas, Texas, and later resided in Plano, Texas. Mildred and Neuie served the Lord together with memberships to Urban Park Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas and Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church, Plano, Texas where Mildred confidently served on the “kitchen” committee baking homemade pies for the Ronald McDonald House. Mildred had a huge heart for those less fortunate. Her favorite philanthropy was The Salvation Army whose mission supports those in need without discrimination. Mildred started her career at Southwestern Bell Telephone in Dallas, Texas and retired from Margo’s LaMode as the manager of the Town East store. Mildred did not know the meaning of sitting idle as her energetic spirit and busy little hands were always up to the task. Friends and family were always welcomed into Mildred’s home with open arms; a home filled with hospitality, joy, order, acceptance, inspiration and the “aroma” of something delicious coming from her pristine kitchen! Mildred’s presence always left a desirable taste to those around her. Memaw will be deeply missed on this earth, but the lessons she taught us through the manner in which she lived her life will forever be etched in our hearts. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Neuie Delemar Fountain and is survived by her two daughters, Linda Sue Beckham and husband John of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Paula Kay Griffin and husband Faron of Montgomery, Texas; six grandchildren, Robert Shawn Beckham, Daniel Shane Beckham, Rodney Blake Griffin, Angela Dawn Lozano, Natalie Kay LeMier, and Amber Leigh Griffin; and eight great grandchildren.
