Michael Finn

Michael Edward Finn, 74 of Trinity, TX passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife Norene by his side. At sunset on Thursday, June 15, 2023, the angels ushered him home to be with our Heavenly Father. Michael was born to Michael and Dorothy Finn in South Boston, Massachusetts in 1948 and is the oldest of seven children. He enlisted in the United States Army and served our great country honorably from 1969-1971. Deservingly so, Sergeant Finn was a proud Vietnam Veteran. During his service, he was a Combat Engineer and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Sgt. Finn also earned the Expert Marksmanship Badge with M-16 and M-14 rifle qualifications and the Sharpshooter Badge for .45 caliber pistol. Upon returning home to Boston, he received his associates degree in business management from Newbury Junior College. On October 29, 1971, Michael married the love of his life, Norene and together, they built a beautiful life raising three wonderful children. In 1988, they moved the family to Delphi, Indiana as he earned the opportunity to be the Building Superintendent of the newly constructed Westin Hotel in Indianapolis. He spent several years there before finding his "Farm Family" at State Farm Insurance in West Lafayette, Indiana. Upon retirement from State Farm in June 2015, he and Norene moved to Trinity, Texas. It is here where he found his Westwood family and the ever-amazing Lake Crew that he enjoyed spending time and creating cherished memories with. Mike and Norene enjoyed traveling, taking more than 20 cruises and countless vacations over their almost 52 years of marriage. Mike would regularly have the trip all planned out centering around all the best restaurants. He even enjoyed researching the menus and having his meals picked out at each place before arriving. The morning of his passing, he was trying to plan his next vacation and boy, is he on the vacation of a lifetime! In addition to traveling, nothing was more important than spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by so many and will be missed by all who met him. Mike was welcomed to his Heavenly home by his parents, Michael and Dorothy, father-in law, Milton Pitty, mother-in law, Nora Pitty, sister Mary Ellen Rehm, brother in-law, Milt Pitty, dear friends, Warren Zaniboni and Mary Zaniboni, and countless other loved ones. Mike loved and adored his family, and he is survived and cherished by his loving wife Norene, two sons and their beautiful brides, Mike and Angie Finn, Monticello, Indiana and Ryan and Abbee Finn, Delphi, Indiana and daughter Charlene McWilliams and husband Jason, Trinity, TX. He is the guardian angel to five amazing grandchildren, Madelyn "Madi", Morgan, and Mara Finn and Cooper and Carter Finn; two grand dogs, Koda, and Diesel, and a very special grand puppy, Fiona. Brothers, Ed (Kathy) Finn, Kevin (Carol) Finn, Jimmy (Terry) Finn, Billy Finn and sister, Debbie Finn. Sister-in Law, Marcia Pitty, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are dear friends, the Zaniboni family. In an effort to allow all friends and family to pay their respects, the family will host a Celebration of Life in Monticello, Indiana on Sunday, June 25, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 5, 2023 at 1:30pm at the Westwood Shores Country Club, 100 Westwood Dr. West, Trinity, TX 75862 with full military honors.
