Mary Lena (Triolo) Nicoll

10-29-1926 - 8/24/2014 lived for 87 years 9 months & 26 days. On August 24th 2014 Mary L. Nicoll passed peacefully at her home . She has been reunited with her husband , Kenneth S. Nicoll , who passed 11-18-2004. Mary Lena Nicoll was born on October 29th 1926 , to Christopher & Frances Triolo in Stafford, Texas . She was preceeded in death by her parents , daughter Virginia Kay Myers , her sister Frances Peterson . Mary is survived by her brother Max James Triolo and his wife Patricia and their children Margarete Catherine , Bill & Max James Jr. , son in law Thomas & Sherry Myers, grandsons Derek & Megan Myers their daughter Ariel , Thomas Myers ,his fiance' Heidi & great grand daughter Olivia Leigh Myers , along with several cousins , inlaws , extended families and a large community of friends. Mary L Nicoll graduated from the Baylor College of Medicine in May of 1947 as a Registered Nurse and soon found work at the hospital in Galveston , Texas where one of her patients , a fiesty young gentleman fresh from fighting in World War II , had been severely injured in the Texas City Explosion and was under her care , the two fell quickly in love and were married three weeks later at her parents home in Bryan , Texas . They settled in a new home on Park Place in Houston , Texas and soon were welcoming a daughter into this world. Kenneth & Mary while skydiving with friends near Montgomery,Texas found a small place that fascinated them and they soon bought the land in 1962 and began clearing what would become the K bar N Ranch Land & Cattle Company . Here they raised registered Beefmaster Cattle , Blue Ribbon hay , and their family . They were members of the 82nd Airborne Division Association , Magnolia United Methodist Church , Eastern Star & Masonic Lodge . They annually made the trailride from Montgomery to Houston , traveled the country and the world . They retired in 1984 to travel and enjoy working their ranch full time for the rest of their productive days . Mary was never one to complain , always encouraged others , and literally wore out bibles . She was a tremendous blessing to all who knew her. She was a living testimony of a Christian life well lived . She will join her husband to rest in peace together at the Houston Veterans National Cemetery on Monday September 1st 2014 just in time for their 67th wedding anniversary on the 7th.
