Marlene Zang

Marlene Lou Zang died April 15, 2016 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on January 29, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the beloved spouse of Charles A. Zang. She attended Mercy Catholic High School in St Louis Missouri. She met Charlie at Mercy High School and became Charlie's sister's best friend. Their acquaintance dated back 60 years and has been married for the last 56 years. She was a full time homemaker and worked with many organizations and clubs including Huntsville area Newcomers Club and The Study Club of Huntsville, Texas. Her favorite organization was volunteering at St Vincent's DePaul where she worked tirelessly for many years. She was a devoted choir member at Sacred Heart Church in Conroe Texas and past President of Lake Elkins Property Owners Association. Her favorite profession was a buyer of women's clothing that required traveling to the Dallas Wholesale Market. Charlie and Marlene traveled extensively throughout the world and her favorite mode of traveling was cruising with her friends and family. Marlene's mission in life was always to help and be there to support and offer kind words to others even as early as her teen years. Marlene's gift of love extended throughout her association with others, always giving to others in need. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son Gregory M. Zang of Montgomery, Texas and daughter Cynthia Ann married to Richard Brock of Plano Texas, three grandchildren, Kristen Marie, Ashley Nicole and Adam Charles, their spouses and four great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Norman Seithel, wife Jan and family. A Rosary will precede visitation from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas on April 18, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm. Mass will be held at 1030 am at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Huntsville, Texas. Internment will immediately follow at the Farris Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas. Flowers will be accepted at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home or a donation to the St Vincent DePaul in Huntsville, Texas is appreciated.
