Marilyn Swindler

Our beloved wife , mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marilyn Dulin Swindler , who was known as “Honey” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the age of 75 in College Station, Texas. Marilyn was born on January 30, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to parents S. E. and Mildred Dulin. She is survived by E. J. Swindler, husband and "Sweetheart" of 56 years; son, Ronnie Swindler and wife Laura; daughters, Debbie Swindler, Marsha Crabtree and Michelle Miori and husband Louis; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Marilyn received a B.A. from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and a M.A. from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She began her teaching career in El Campo, Texas and later pursued a career as a councelor at Clear Lake I.S.D. They later retired to Waterwood, Texas. Marilyn loved her God, His Word and His Church. She was a student and teacher of God’s word for over 40 years. She was a charter member of Covenant Fellowship Church of Huntsville, Texas, where she taught a ladies Sunday School class and sang in the choir. She and E.J. shared a passion for missions and helped on many trips to build churches on Indian Reservations in New Mexico. Marilyn loved and devoted her life to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved life and all it’s experiences; laughter and hugs and serving others. Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday January 7, 2009 at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Valentine officiating. Serving as pallbearers are "Honey’s" grandsons; Sean Crabtree, C.J. Hartman, Michael Miori, Steven Miori, Ryan Swindler and Zac Wingerd. Interment will follow at Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Tuesday January 6, 2009 at the funeral home.
