Lorraine Miller

Lorraine Josephine Lemoine Miller, of Huntsville, passed away on Sunday July16, 2006, at the age of 82, after a courageous 18 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was deeply loved by her husband of 57 years, Wiley Edward Miller. Mrs. Miller was a nurse at Mary's Help Hospital in San Francisco during the war. They met on a blind date in February 1945 and were married on May 25, 1946. The couple resided in California until March of 1960 when they made their journey to Texas with their 10 children and one on the way. Lorraine was devoted to God, her husband, and her children. She unselfishly portrayed this by staying home and caring for her 11 children and hard working husband. She prided herself in caring for their physical needs and raising her family with strong values and strength. Through all the families' trials and tribulations she never wavered. Her gentle spirit and kindness surpassed any hardship her family would face. She never had an unkind word to say and always provided a loving environment for anyone around. Even as her illness progressed she never ceased to say "please" and "thank you". The love and care Lorraine showed to her family will never be forgotten and will continue on through them. The strong ties that she instilled in them as children still hold the utmost importance in each of their lives. Lorraine will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by many. She is survived by son Paul and Alice Miller, daughter Marilyn Harper, Joseph Harper, daughter Michael and Buddy Widner Jr., son Gregory and Sharlene Miller, son Brian and Charlotte Miller, son John Miller, daughter Celeste and Jimmy Wood all of Huntsville, daughter Lenore and Garnett Davis of West, Texas, son Louis and Paula Miller of Ogden, Utah, daughter Jeannine and Joey Anderson of Spring, Texas, and daughter Wilma and Bill Garrett of Willis, Texas; 29 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and one brother, Louis Lemoine of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Edward, parents Louis Lawrence and Laura Cecelia (Berger) Lemoine; brother, Paul Leonard and sister, Laura Amelia Haynes and grandson Joey Garnett Davis. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday July 18, 2006 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home with a Rosary to held at 7 PM. Services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church with interment to follow at Black Jack Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers are grandsons; Paul Miller Jr., Jay Miller, Ryan Harvey, Michael Miller, Richard Harper, Randy Harper, Joseph Anderson, Ryan Garrett, Christopher Miller, Jerrod Miller, Chad Miller. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons; Randall, Derrick and Justin Miller, Tyler and Jayce Miller, Michael Fitzhugh, Nathan Gustafson, Ethan Harper, Patrick Duke, Jordan Anderson, Chase, Eric and Colby Miller.
