Judith Tripson McElroy

Montgomery TX, Judith Tripson McElroy of Montgomery Texas passed away on the morning of July 16th after a brief illness, surrounded by those she loved. Judy is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter Holli Ann May and granddaughter, Logan Elizabeth May (18) both of Montgomery. She considered Holli and Logan her greatest accomplishments. The three had a beautiful, unique, loving bond that was incomparable, admired by many and envied by most. Judy is also survived by her brothers Frank Tripson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Rich Tripson of Spring, Texas. As the big sister, Judy took the role seriously and nurtured and cared after her brothers, as if they were her own sons. Her love for Frankie and Richie was unconditional and her presence , mentor-ship, and guidance served them well. Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Tripson and her beloved father, Frank "Hoopie" Tripson. Judy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Wilson Street elementary school. It was here she met her lifelong best friend Harriett Navarro with whom she shared all life's ups and downs. Judy graduated from Etna High School. Later, she married and moved to Springfield, Tennessee. Her 8 years in Springfield were some of the happiest of her life. She loved raising her daughter here and was very involved in her community. Here she had an active social life and forged lifelong friendships that she maintained until her death. In the early 1980's, her family moved to Spring, Texas and Judy began a thriving sales career. Judy was widely respected throughout her industry and had over 3 decade long career marked by awards, accolades and many friendships formed. Judy had a hard driven work ethic that was beyond compared and help mold so many in the industry. This included her daughter, who picked up and ran with what her mom taught her and became a leader in their industry. It was one of Judy's proudest achievements, watching Holli succeed and climb to the top of their field. Upon retirement, Judy moved to Montgomery to be closer to her wonderful family. In Montgomery, she began the 3rd chapter of her life. It was a life filled with an abundant and active social life. The friendships she built here, though new, were deep and meaningful. She was very active in the April Sound Ladies Auxiliary and loved their cards games, bunco and an occasional trip to the Louisiana casinos. Gambling was one of Judy's favorite past-times she taught many of her daughter's friends how to play on their girls weekends to Las Vegas. Judy lived a rich life filled with the things most important to her, her family, dear friends, her faithful companion, her rescue dog Jody and wonderful trips, especially to her beloved Aruba, where her ashes will be put to their final resting place, next summer surrounded by her closest friends. Her wish is to be let go in the sunset winds, so upon all of Holli and Logan's return trips, they will feel her in the breezes on their faces, knowing she there is enjoying the trip right beside them and always looking out for them both. Their bonds are unbreakable, even with death. Judy left a mark on her family and we are sure others, that will last a lifetime.
