John Leroy Webb

John Leroy Webb John was born August 11, 1964 to Aubrey Lee and Marjorie M. Webb and passed away on March 28, 2012. He lived his entire life in Dodge, Texas. He was preceded in death by parents Aubrey and Marjorie Webb. He is survived by his loving wife, Dixie Philips Webb, daughter Emily and husband Cody Wilson and grandson Brayden John Webb; son Matthew Jordan, brother, Tommy Webb, sister Martha Faye and husband Daryl Depoorter, nephew Dustin and wife Ashley, Tristin and Aubrey Webb, niece Rae Lyn Webb, nephews Garrett Wilson and Corey Bell and niece Kalyn Bell along with a host of other relatives. John was a very active and productive member of the Dodge Community. John was named the unofficial mayor of Dodge due to his tireless and selfless acts of kindness. He was a founding member of the VFD, as well as the President of the Dodge/Oakhurst Waterboard. He was a lifelong member of the Dodge Baptist Church. John loved his wife and family dearly and was committed to his friends as well as the community. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing and just spending time with his family. If you ever tried his cooking once, you would go back for seconds. John was passionate about life and if you were fortunate enough to call him a friend, you had a friend for life. There are no words to describe the loss and anguish his family and friends are feeling, however, because of his love for the Lord, they know he is in a better place. Visitation will be Monday, April 2, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. John will Lie in State from 8:00am until 8:00pm at SHMFH Chapel. Services will be Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 10:00 am, at First Baptist Church, Dodge, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dodge Baptist Church,Dodge, Texas. Pallbearers are Wes Abbott, Lester Loveday, Steve Baker, Gene Bartee, Dusty Spivey and Chris Clark. Honorary Pallbearers are Spencer Karr, Joe Toe Roark, Curtis Bennett and Lloyd Roark.
