Jerry Glenn Cook

Jerry G. Cook, 83, passed away at home in Huntsville, Texas on May 8, 2024. The son of Johnnie Mae (Aden) and J.W. Cook, he was born on October 3, 1940, in Huntsville, Texas. After graduating from Huntsville High School, he worked on a tugboat in Galveston Bay before returning to Huntsville to work as an electrician. He worked hard his whole life to support his family. He retired from TDCJ and spent his golden years working hay on his ranch. When he could no longer work on his ranch, he enjoyed watching birds, deer, and other wildlife who were frequent visitors to his property. He also enjoyed watching sitcoms and classic westerns on television in the company of his beloved cat, Sugar. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sister, Johnnie Lynn Cook Kelly; two beloved wives, Myrita Gene (Dickerson) and Norma Lee (Richards); daughter-in-law, Kimberly DiMaggio; and grandchild, Ethan Paul Baum. He is survived by his children, Terry G. Cook of Huntsville, Texas and wife Kathy; Patricia L. Cook DiMaggio of Gotha, Florida; Tiffany A. Winters of Granbury, Texas; and Tanya L. Cook of Huntsville, Texas and husband David Baum; ten grandchildren: Shaun Cook, Carrie Cook, Leanna Cook, Nicholas DiMaggio, Dominic DiMaggio, Myrita Winters, Gracie Winters, Brody Winters, Jordan Baum, and Zachary Baum; and seven great grandchildren: Thomas Cook, Travis Cook, Trenton Cook, Madelyn Cook, Axel James Rodgers, Alaella Amezcua, and Wrenley Winters. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend. Though he will be greatly missed by those who loved him, he has finally been reunited with his beloved wives, Myrita, who passed on December 12, 1979, and Norma, who passed on January 3, 2002. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 10:00am in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. Interment will follow at 1:00pm at East Sandy Cemetery.
