In Loving Memory of Janice Yvonne Foutz Killian With full hearts and deep sadness, we share that our beloved Jan Killian passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 81 at her home in Montgomery, Texas. Born in Pocatello, Idaho on November 4, 1943, Jan was the first child of David “Harry” and Frances Verbeck Foutz. Her childhood was spent on a farm in the Aberdeen, Idaho area, where she enjoyed the close-knit rural and Catholic community. Jan grew up in a loving, faithful, and supportive family that worked, played, and laughed together. She attended Idaho State University. Jan was the devoted wife of Riley Killian, a U.S. Navy pilot. Together, Jan and Riley built a life rooted in faith, love, and service to God. Their marriage was a true partnership where they grew spiritually side by side, supporting and nurturing their blended families with devotion and joy. Jan was a wonderful mother to her two sons, Steve and Scott Walker, whom she birthed during her marriage to Robert “Bob” Walker, a U.S. Naval Officer. She was also a caring and supportive mother to Jenny and Julie Killian. Jan’s vibrant spirit and deep love for her family were unmistakable. She radiated joy and light wherever she went, often filling a room with her infectious laugh and warm heart. She had a lively, spunky personality — a beautiful mix of curiosity, kindness, and zest for life that never faded. She was the glue that held her family together, making everyone feel truly seen and loved. She loved her life on the lake — the peaceful views, the birds, the calm — and always had a soft spot for her cats. She found joy in golf games, travel adventures, a glass of good wine, and hosting friends and family. Above all, her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. She was an excellent cook, and her meals often brought everyone together around the table, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, joy and love. Jan was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother David A. Foutz, and nephew David W. Foutz. She is survived by her loving husband Riley Killian; her cherished sister Kathleen and her husband Bob; her sons Steve and Scott (with his wife Yuliya); her daughters Jenny and Julie; her beloved grandchildren Brendan, Michael (with his wife Yasmine), Riley, Matt, Hailey, Kyle, Victoria, and Thomas, her great-grandson Liam; and nephew Doug Foutz. A celebration of life service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jan’s memory may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or to a charity meaningful to you.
