Clara Ruth Eason Yearout South was born October 25, 1925 in Waycross, Georgia to James McKenzie and Ruby Lee (Jones) Eason and passed away January 29, 2010 in Huntsville, Texas. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband of 49 years Lloyd A. Yearout, who died November 19, 1992; son Gary Arthur Yearout who died April 17, 1974; sisters Vonnie Carpenter, Louise Elk, Velma Gray, Bettie June Dougherty, Sara Nell Eason; brother James Madison Eason. Clara is survived by her husband of 16 ½ years Herbert Morton South. Son Ron Alan Yearout and wife Linda and their children, Sara Anne and Jessica Ruth Yearout; daughter Cynthia Ruth Yearout Leftwich and husband Jim and their children, Amy Lynne Cross, Cheryl Anne Sonnier and Douglas Lee Hamilton; great-grandchildren David Michael, John David, Taylor Anna, Taylor Meshell, Logan Mathew, Cheyenne Dakota, Whitney Madison, Autumn Lynn, Morgan Claire, Madison Lynnette, Samantha Paige, Klara Lee, Tabatha Ruth;. Step-son Phillip Medeiros and wife Sandra, their children Jeff Medeiros, Michelle Bedford, and Stephen Medeiros; step-daughter Janice South, her children Teresa Queal and husband Brenton and Stephanie Dailey and husband Patrick; step-daughter Linda Gail West and husband Gene; step-grandchildren Angela and Bruce Walker and Glenn and Jessicca Newsom; step-great-grandchildren Jessica and Benjamin Medeiros , Natalie Bedford, Austin, Jordan and Cameron Queal, Chassidy and D.J. and Mason and Chloiel Yearout Family from Missouri – Deceased Art, Frank, Warren, Roy, Paul, Daisy and Dorthy Yearout. Surviving Bill Yearout, and their families. Clara Ruth lived in Kansas City, MO from 1944 to 1955, moved back to Waycross, GA and in 1970 moved to Texas. She enjoyed 29 years of nursing at Huntsville Memorial Hospital, and help deliver many babies in Huntsville area. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in New Waverly where she was a Sunday School teacher, and worked with VBS, CIA, GA and WMU. Her hobbies were fishing, traveling, camping, family reunions, sewing and crocheting and she was a really good carpenter’s assistance. Clara loved life and had a desire to always take care of people and she loved children, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, February 1 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church in New Waverly with Dr. J.D. Andrews officiating. Burial will be at the Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 31 from 3 -5:00pm at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. Memorial condolences may be made at www.shmfh.com.
