Robert Earl Rose Jr.

Robert Earl Rose, Jr passed away on August 5, 2017 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Baytown, Texas, on June 26, 1969, and graduated from high school in 1987 in Willis, Texas. He joined the Air Force in 1988, and was a Crew Chief on C-130 Aircraft. While in the Air Force, he spent time all over the world, including the Persian Gulf in the early 1990s. His last duty station was in Germany, where he met his wife, Kim, in 1992. They both got out of the Air Force in 1993, settled in the Houston area, and married on June 29, 1997. Bob received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1998. He loved to do design work and was known for getting his hands dirty to help get the job done. In 2004, he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and he fought hard up until the very end. He loved playing his guitar and singing, and he loved fishing with his buddies at Caddo Lake every year. Preceding him in death is his mom, Norma Jean Rose, and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Left behind to mourn his loss is his wife Kim, of Pearland, father Robert Earl Rose, Sr and his wife Tammy, of Conroe, brother Paul Morgan Rose, sister Jenny Matte, and her husband John, of Atlanta, GA, his nephew, Mike Matte, his niece, Lena Rose Matte, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved felines, including his favorite Siamese, Bonnie Blue. We would like to thank Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and MD Anderson Cancer Center for the care they gave Bob over the years. We especially want to thank Dr. Hans Lee of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for doing everything in his power to allow Bob to fight until the very end. Visitation will be Thursday, August 10 from 6pm-8pm, and the Funeral will be on August 11 at 2pm, both at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home – Willis, 10129 FM 1097 W, Willis, Texas 77318.
